wtca ceo ends india trip on a high note
NEW YORK, NY, USA - Less than a month after his appointment as the new CEO of WTCA, Mr. Scott Ferguson made his first overseas trip to India from August 1-8, a region where the WTC Network is five times bigger than five years ago.
“We have experienced one of the most astonishing cases of growth in India in recent years. I am here to get a touch and feel about the Indian dynamics, discuss ways the WTCA can further assist India’s growth, and extend our support to ensure the sustainability of our network expansion in both quantity and quality,” Ferguson said.
During the trip, Mr. Ferguson visited Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and New Delhi. He met with the WTC team in each city, spoke at events attended by hundreds of local and international dignities and business leaders, and shared his view with more than a dozen media outlets about the development of India and prospect of WTC network.
In Mumbai, Mr. Ferguson praised WTC Mumbai’s leadership in trade services, and encouraged the Mumbai team to share best practices with young and growing WTCs in the region. In Bangalore, he was highly impressed by the quality of the WTC complex and its strong ties with local business community. In Hyderabad, he met with senior government officials for the development of WTC Hyderabad and WTC Amravati. In Delhi, he toured WTC Noida facility which is now operating and met with major tenants to gain feedback on WTC services.
"World Trade Center operations in India should be proud of their contributions to the incredible growth taking place in their country. Each of the four Indian WTCs we visited have developed a unique approach to economic and community development which highlights the importance of our worldwide network of Members. I thank each of them for their very warm welcome, and look forward to working closely with them in the future," said Mr. Ferguson.
Mr. Scott Wang, WTCA’s Vice President, Asia Pacific accompanied Mr. Ferguson for the trip.
